SBOT SOCIAL AREA - Social Schedule O What is the SBOT Social Area? It is a meeting point for participants and their companions, created to allow for moments of real conviviality. Registered participants will receive a password at the e-mail address indicated upon registration. This password will allow you to enter the system and register you choice among the offered attractions. We would like to remind you that seats for these attractions are limited and will be attributed on a first come first served basis, according to the order of registration for the Congress. Once your option is made and confirmed by the Secretariat, tickets can no longer be exchanged. There will be transportation available to and from all the show venues, departing from the official Congress Hotels. LIMITED SEATS AVAILABLE Baccarelli Institute - November 15 - OPENING CEREMONY (**) Over 500 children and youngsters from the Heliopolis "favela" and other regions of the country find hope in the chords of classical music. It is surprising to think that this victory was born of a tragedy. Throughout his career Conductor Silvio Baccarelli had a dream: to teach music to the lowest income populations. In 1996, still not knowing how to put this plan into practice, he saw on TV a fire that destroyed part of the Heliopolis community. Moved by the difficulties and the struggle of those families the conductor approached a local public school with the suggestion of offering an initial music course, with orchestra instruments, to children and adolescents. Some months later, this movement became the start of the Baccarelli Institute, a non for profit civil entity, which offers high level music and art education to children and youngsters facing social risks. This includes basic and advanced courses of different instruments, choral chant including on-stage expression techniques. At the 30th. Congress f the Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and Trauma, we will have the honor of listening to the Heliopolis Symphony Orchestra, under the famous Conductor Roberto Tibiriçá. With a varied repertoire and a level of musical quality that impresses any audience, the Heliópolis Symphony Orchestra is among the best youth orchestras in São Paulo. All this is due to the Baccarelli Institute, which by using art as a tool became a significant change agent whose influence goes beyond forming musicians. These youngsters become participative citizens, able to follow their dreams and change the reality that faces their families. Ivaldo Bertazzo Dance Company The body in movement as an instrument of change. This is the pathway followed by youngsters to find their space in the world. This is the opportunity found by over fifty youngsters from the outskirts of the metropolitan area of São Paulo by enrolling in the Community Dance project, which has led to the Ivaldo Bertazzo Teatro Dança Company, formed in June of 2007. The Dance Company born of a joint project by SESC-SP and the Movement Re-education School belonging to Bertazzo, allowed these youngsters to participate in two very special performances: "Samwaad - Street of Meetings", in 2004, and "Milágrimas" (A thousand Tears) in 2005. Both performances brought the very rich cultures of India and South Africa to the stages of São Paulo, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and even Paris. But the greatest achievement was to realize that dancing has qualified these youngsters for the labor market allowing them to become productive citizens. Now the Company presents its first project: "Mar de gente" (Sea of People) . This performance reflects Bertazzo's perspective of man's evolution, which includes reflections on how we become part of the current world and on future possibilities. Happiness pervades this show which will include parts of the three performances. It is pure happiness in movement, which we will witness at the 39th Congress of the Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and trauma. SBOT Women's SPace (**) With the purpose of offering both participants and their companions some moments of recreation and entertainment to allow them to relax from their daily obligations, we the Social Committee, created a leisure area where they will find: :: L´Occitane en Provence - Aromathology, and bath products, for men and women. These are products made of essential oils and natural substances and distributed throughout Brazil by exclusive stores. These products will be available at promotional prices. :: Selma JaKob Atelier - With over two decades of experience in the international design market Selma Jakob creates exclusive jewelry using both crude and lapidated gems, always adapted to the personality of each client. Selma will participate at the event on 11/15, offering her jewelry at special price and her services as a Personal Stylist in the jewelry área. One of her marvelous creations will be raffled. :: Casa Canela - Wine tasting and the launching of the album Wine Memories, to preserve the memories of special moments. :: São Paulo Convention Bureau - Offers guidance for the best buying at different commercial centers, such as : the Oscar Freire Steet, the Iguatemi Shopping Mall - or discount centers such as, 25 de Março and José Paulino Streets, among others. :: Year end is nearing.
